Josh Manney Associate Marriage and Family Therapist
As we move through life there are many challenges and moments of suffering that will present themselves to us. Sometimes we move through these moments seemingly unharmed. Sometimes we “push through” in a way that gets us past the suffering. And sometimes we feel that we just cannot get through these moments on our own, without the help from someone else. I can relate to these different feelings and experiences – and have found myself that life is not easy, but it is worth living. Whether you are wanting to work through past, present, or future challenges, I am here to help.
I am of the mind that we can all use therapy at different points in our lives. I know how hard it is to reach out to someone, and to ask for “help.” I have been there myself and can tell you that once you make that first huge step towards improving your mental health and well-being, you will be pleased by the results. I work with people of all ages and walks of life and have specialized experience and training in anxiety-related issues, depression, ADD/ADHD, grief/loss, Veteran’s issues and working on personal growth. I will use my personal experience and professional training to help tailor our time together to meet your own individual needs.
I am a son, father, brother, friend, therapist, musician, veteran, and most importantly, a person. I believe in making a connection first, then our journey together can really begin. My therapeutic approach will be evidence-based and rooted in science. I am always learning new skills and techniques and have specialized training and experience in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Mindfulness. I always take a Person-Specific approach towards therapy and utilize methods that work for you, and not the other way around. I want our time together to be meaningful and impactful - a safe space for you to openly share your experiences, to feel connected, to feel validated, and to grow. My goal is simple – to help you become more psychologically flexible so that you can move towards a better version of the life that you are living.
