Frequently Asked Questions

Do you only provide services for Veterans and Military?

While we bring an understanding to Veteran issues thanks to personal experience in the military, we work with everyone. Therapists we have worked with Children, Adults, Couples and Families. Give us a call for a free 20 minute over the phone consult to see how we can be of service to you.

How do I know if I need to see a therapist?

We think the fact that you are here and searching is a good indicator that it may be time for you to seek support. Ask yourself a few questions. Have I been going about this alone? Am I stuck in the unsuccessful patterns that lead to similar problems? Could I benefit from a different perspective on what is going on in my life? If you answered yes to any of these questions then give us a call to see how you can get started to make the changes you want to make.

Why can't I just talk to my friends and family about my problems? Why do I need to go to a therapist?

You can go to your friends for advice anytime. Advice is different from therapy in that we will do our best NOT to give you advice. We're not here to tell you what to do but rather help you find what will work best for you. Your friend gives you advice based on the premise of what THEY think is best for you and not necessarily what you want. As a trained professional it is the goal of a therapist to help you come to the best solution, develop strategies, and learn coping skills for yourself and no one else. Our job is basically to work ourselves out of a job. We're here for you and We'll help you, but only as long as you need it.

How will I know if you are the therapist for me?

Give us a call for a free 20 minute over the phone consultation and we can help you find which one of us is right for you. Even after starting therapy you come to the conclusion that we are not a proper fit, we will do our best to refer you to someone who can meet your needs.

I found you through another website are you part of that group or do you work alone?

We are part of a collective of therapists who work collaboratively to support our clients. What this means is that even if we can't support you, we have a pool of colleagues who we can refer to, both inside that group and outside.

Why don't you take my insurance?

We are always exploring ways to work with insurance. Please refer back to the "Rates" page as there is a list of insurances that some of our therapists accept.
